Keep Idiot Politicians Away from my Network
A while ago me and another GUBUG member had a
discusson about
Net Neutrality. My point is simple, I don’t want idiot
politicions, who don’t understand
how the Internet works, to make laws about it. The Internet should remain
free. Freedom in the sense of no laws (either for or against net neutrality).
Our Free Market has the power by itself to prevent the problems that the net
neutrality advocates are spreading more FUD about.
Today I just read about Dan Kaminsky’s research to create a Net Neutrality
tester.
This is a great idea. This could make it simple for any individual to more
thoroughly test their connection. It could also educate the general public on
the importance of unrestricted access. If enough people use it, and contact
their ISPs with either praise or complaints (possibly cancellation) about
their quality of service, it could lead to even better service for all.
Use the power of your dollar to enforce Net Neutrality. Don’t
let the big Telcos get away with it.
